About

Kia Ora! My name is Amanda, and I am a certified Spinning Instructor.  I taught at various studios around Boston for the past year, but have recently made a career change working for an indoor cycling full time on the management side in New York City.  I am not currently teaching, but am going to keep up with this little blog I like to call spinmuse that has 588 individual suggestions for songs to ride to with teaching notes, or 5 gigs of music, or 1.7 days of music to pan through.  I hope you can find something you enjoy on here!

I got the idea of starting this blog after googling “spin music” so many times and coming across the same types of top 40, classic rock suggestions for spinning. I wanted to throw some of my playlists and profiles out there for others to use, and to discover some great new artists or remixes out there.  The best part about spin music is you don’t have to love what you’re listening to, but as long as it works for the scenery and emotions you want to evoke during the ride, then it’s great! Personally, I love the songs I play, and wanted to share them with you so you can add some variety to your playlists.

You can find me on twitter (@spinmuse), facebook (spinmuse), and I have an iTunes Ping account under “amanda bucci” (that is not as well kept as I wish it would be… anyone else have problems publishing playlists?) as well as a Spotify account under spinmuse, in which I will post the playlists as best I can (some of the songs are unavailable on iTunes and Spotify and therefore won’t show up in Ping or Spotify). To mimick a playlist, you will have to check the blog entry. Contact me if you ever need help finding a song that I have posted but is unavailable on iTunes or Spotify, and I can point you in the right direction on where to find it (amandaleighbucci at gmail dot com)

On any given playlist, you can find anything from pop, rock & classic rock, indie, hip-hop, electronic, house, glitch-hop, and dubstep on here.  Variety is KEY for spin classes!

Thanks for checking out my blog, and leave me a note – I love new friends. Even if they are virtual.

    • Awesome Jessica! Want to share eachother on our pages to get more traffic for the both of us? I can put your blog on my “blog roll” so other instructors who view my site can check out yours too! Thanks, and I love your site! Looks great.

      • Sorry for the delayed response. Ooops!

I will definitely add you to my “blog roll”.

Chris has been telling me to use ping too, but for some reason whenever I click on it, my itunes essentially tells me “NO”. Must keep working on that.

        Have a good one!
        Jessica

    • Hi Marta! I actually have not done that yet, but let me work on that and I will post them and let you know. I am so glad you like them! :) Thanks for checking out my site.

      Amanda

      • Marta,

Check out my latest post called “Spotify!” I have explained a means of how you can listen and see my playlists. It involves Spotify, and Twitter. Please let me know if you have any questions about how to go about this, and I will still work on researching how to create a playlist on iTunes to share with others!

        Thank you and enjoy :)
        Amanda

Marta–just wanted to update you that I created an iTunes Ping account under “amanda bucci” so if you search for me there, you can find the playlists that I upload (please note some of the songs are missing from the playlists because they are unavailable on iTunes, and also note that some of the playlists might be out of order in how I actually played them in class)

        I hope that helps!

  1. Hey girl! I came across spinmuse while browsing for music one day. I’m an instructor myself, and always looking for some new music. Turns out, we listen to a lot of the same stuff! I’m trying to get a blog going with my music too. I’m not too blog savvy, but I will let you know when it’s up!
    Keep up the SICK music!

    • Hey Dani!!! You are awesome, I LOVE finding other people who listen to the same music as me.. who needs the radio ;) Good luck with your blog, start slow and easy and once you get the hang of it it’s super fun and enjoyable to post each week. Let me know if you have any questions about it, otherwise, let me know when it’s up and I can put you on my blogroll!! Thank you for your kind comments, you made my whole morning!

  2. Hi Amanda,
This year I made the leap to cycle after 4 years of Group X. In May (when I was a noob) I had 6 people in a Monday morning class. Lame! Using blogs like yours to piece together what I think will work for my members has grown us to 22 and counting (Better hurry, I only have 24 bikes). My club has also added a Wednesday class for me too at the same time. NOT LAME! Thanks for all your hard work.

    • JEN! That is SO awesome!!! Congratulations, but I want you to know it has nothing to do with my hard work, but everything to do with YOUR hard work you put into making a great class! Where do you teach? Your kind words are so nice, I truly appreciate it!

      • I’m at LifeTime Fitness in Kingwood, Texas and sub here and there around town. Hit me up if you need a break from winter up there!

      • Amazing!!! I’ve always wanted to check out Austin, even though I’m sure that’s no where near Kingwood since TX is the biggest state eeeeever. Let me know if you ever come up to Boston!

  3. Hey Amanda! I’m a spin instructor in Boston and I just started reading your blog recently. You’ve given me some great music ideas! And I am friends with one of your regular riders at Benefitness. Her name is Stephanie and she is AWESOME and said she loves your class. So I just started a blog of my own and added you onto my blog roll. Please check it out! It’s still a work in progress! http://eatsweatbalance.com/

    • Elise! (Creepy I know your name?) Stephanie is the BOMB and she was mentioning you to me on Tuesday night. I am so thrilled you have found my blog useful, and I love yours! I’m going to add you to my blogroll as well, and what’s your weekly teaching schedule? I’d love to take a class with you somewhere! Thanks so much, you just made my day =)

      • Haha not creepy at all. Glad that you knew who I was before I randomly posted a comment on your blog. My weekly teaching schedule is actually up on my blog right here: http://eatsweatbalance.com/spinning-schedule/. Please let me know if you’d like to come to a class sometime. I will be sure to reserve you a bike as my guest. Some of the classes require reservations and others don’t. I would love to have you in my class! And I would love to attend one of yours if that’s possible? Email me when you want to come and we can discuss details at elisepetersen@gmail.com.

  4. Greetings! I’ve been reading your web site for a while now and finally got the courage to go ahead and give you a shout out from Huffman Texas! Just wanted to say keep up the fantastic job!
